There still exists a newsagent by the name of Fielding, but it is not connected to the original C A Fielding who produced these fine and unique post card views of the surrounding area c.1905 to 1920 from his shop at 86 Watney Street. In 2026 the History of Wapping Trust published a book featuring 33 of these views. .

East End Siege - portrait view - 2 views of Scots Guards ready for the appearance of the assassins Coles Ward , London hospital - view across ward with patients and nurses #3083. 4. Out-Patients Department, London Hospital Statue of Queen Alexandra - portrait view - the first and only statue of Queen Alexandra, London Hospital This firm was founded by Alexander Bloom about 1896, opposite the London Hospital in Whitechapel Road, printing cap labels and songsheets. By 1908 the firm was producing post cards from #7 Houndsditch. Comic cards formed a large part of the firm's output. Many topical cards were produced, including those of the east end siege photographed by Alexander Bloom himself. The firm apears to have ceased trading by the 1930s. John Thridgould & Company ceased publishing Post Cards in 1946, but continued as a printer and manufacturing stationer. They traded in Sidney Street, first occupying nos 18 to 20 and then extended to no 16 around 1913 and by 1917 had taken over nos 14 to 22. The company began issuing postcards c.1908 specialising in Greetings with their Gelatine, Pioneer and Children Series.
